Sarah Krohn, MSW, LICSW
I’ve spent more than 20 years serving clients in the behavioral health field, and one thing has remained true throughout my career: I continue to be amazed by the human capacity for growth and healing. I see my job as helping you tap into your innate capacity for healing by offering the tools, support, and space you need to move toward the life you want to create.
I specialize in individual therapy for adults and adolescents who are navigating mood and anxiety disorders, relationship challenges, life transitions (e.g., college/post‑high school changes, job shifts, or divorce), cultural and social identity concerns, and LGBTQIA+ experiences. Additionally, I am passionate about supporting clients experiencing trauma symptoms or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I also have extensive experience working with clients experiencing new and long-standing serious mental illness, including psychotic disorders, major depressive disorder, and bipolar disorder.
I take an integrative, evidence‑based approach to therapy, grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In our work together, we will explore the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, identify patterns that may be getting in your way, and build practical strategies to help you feel more grounded and confident to support you moving toward your goals.
I also bring in developmental and relational perspectives, helping you understand how early experiences and family dynamics may have shaped the beliefs you carry about yourself, others, and the future. Many people find that this insight opens the door to new ways of coping and responding to challenges.
My style is strengths‑based, relational, and person‑centered. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard and supported, so I focus on building a trusting relationship where you can show up exactly as you are. Cultural humility is central to my practice — I value the identities, histories, and lived experiences each person brings, and I strive to create a space where your experience and history is honored.
I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from St. Thomas University, and I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from many different backgrounds and communities. If you’re looking for a collaborative, compassionate space to explore what’s going on in your life and move toward healing, I’d be honored to work with you.
