mASTER’S iNTERN
I believe that at the forefront of therapy is connection. I work with individuals to collaborate in setting goals, identifying strengths, and exploring themselves. My approach to therapy is rooted in person-centered and strengths-based theories and integrates cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT) techniques. I find it important to meet individuals where they are and foster connection through a warm and non-judgmental relationship.
I have a passion for working with individuals experiencing mood disorders, anxiety and worry, co-occurring concerns, trauma, and relationship challenges (e.g., romantic relationships, family, friendships). I especially enjoy working with adolescents (13 years and older) and young adults experiencing trouble coping with stress, anxiety and worry; academic and college transitions; identity development; and family addiction. Often, I work with clients navigating challenging life transitions such as work changes, relocation/moving to a different city/state, marriage, or divorce. I also have specialized training and experience working with pediatric attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) through my previous work at St. David’s Center for Child and Family Development and Partner’s in Excellence.
I am currently enrolled in a Master of Arts Counseling Psychology program through the University of St. Thomas with a clinical emphasis in Co-Occurring and Addiction Studies.
